I'd like to add heartfelt thanks to EFFORTS for teaching me to dream again and how to make my dream a reality.  (carried EFFORTS brochures in my saddlebags!)  Life isn't over with COPD - it is only the beginning of a new chapter.  Gratitude also to the ALAofWA for providing the TREK TriIsland bike ride for lung disease...for their unflagging volunteer assistance during the entire time.  Based on the quality of their volunteers.. many of whom have been volunteering 10 years and more ... volunteerism is alive and well for the American Lung Association of Washington and EFFORTS.

Who will join me next year for EFFORTS and the American Lung Association of Washington?  Next time I'll have an alarm clock that works, a flashlight that works, a camera with enough batteries -thanks for the batteries, Don!!!, more memory sticks, a compression stuff sack for my sleeping bag, a bigger tent bag, sturdier tent stakes, a working inflatable cushion and a cell phone that works and....
