4.    COPD diagnosed Jan. 97 at 54 years old.
5.    In hindsight, symptoms appeared at 40, thought it was just asthma.
6.    Went to my Family Dr. with severe headaches. He didn't dx. Went to ER at Hospital for headache. Dx at hospital in ER.
7.    Referred to Pulmonary Dept. within Hospital when diagnosed.  Respirologist sent me to Pulm.Dept. again 7 months later.
8.    Xray, Arterial Blood Gas, Oximeter, whole raft of other tests in Pulm. Dept.
9.    Respirologist on call at Hospital.  Given hardly any information about COPD. Just told me very bluntly that I would not be able to work anymore, and that I was being sent home on 24/7 oxygen, and gave me prescriptions to fill for three inhalers and prednesone.

11.    Salbutamol, 2 puffs(100mcg) 4xday; Atrovent, 2 puffs(20ug) 4xday;
         FloVent Diskus, 2 puffs(250ug) 2 xday.

        Norvasc (Amlodipine) 5mg, 1xd (blood pressure)

        Clonazepam .5mg, when needed (anxiety, back pain)
        Tylenol No.3 (cod) 30mg, as needed (back pain)

17.    No type of Re-Hab ever suggested.  Family Doctor recommended walking.

19.    Using oxygen 24/7 at: 3 lpm at rest, 4 lmp low activity & sleeping,  5 lpm moderate activity, and 6 lpm extreme activity. as per Therapist using Oximeter.
20.    Intolerance to heat, extreme cold.  Cannot sleep without taking Anti-Depressants.  Incontinence with coughing and if really sob.
21.    Not working.
22.    On full disability.
23.    No private medical coverage. Medical coverage thru Social Services.
24.    Have not scheduled LVRS or lung transplant.
