Yes. I am on 24/7. I have a concentrator at home and have 40 ft of hose on it. MY home settings are 2.5 at rest and 4+ with activity. I have a Pulse/Dose portable that uses the Oxylite tanks(cylinders). I use that at 2.0 at rest and 5.0 with activity. 20. Yes. when I am in heat and exerting effort I get into distress real fast and have to cease and rest. On the other hand cold seems to give me endurance somewhat. I would like to be able to stop all young people from smoking at all. I know that that is an impossible dream, but smoking is such a sneaky demon. It can and does ruin all things that we all look forward to for our waning years. If I could just open some minds a little to the "down the road" things young people that smoke have to look forward to and spare them of having to plan things , not with your family, but with your appliances and your family. I think that would be a answer to prayer. 27. Yes (35 YEARS) 28. No not on a regular basis. I do get a lot of exercise on my job, but not as taught in the pulmonary class. 29. Bactrim 30. Symptoms became "prominent" at age 64 6. I went to Dr becaue my cold/flu was not getting any better 7. My Osteopath referred me to a Pulmonologist - I fired his butt after 3d visit because he did nothing for me - 3 mins was tops for visit 8. A Nurse friend recommended current Pulmo, who saved my life. (Went to him telling him I had been nauseous for 2 hrs for two days in a row. He put me in hosp for tests and they found my left kidney was cancerous. They removed it cleanly - and I need neither Chemo nor radiation). 9. There were X-rays & some basic Pulm Functions Testiing. My Osteopath explained it so I could understand how serious it was. 10. I was not pre-tested 11. I am curr on Combivent (MDI) & Albuterol via nebulizer. By coordinating with Pulm, I have increased my Combivent to 2 puffs 4 times per day, and I've been able to cut back on my nebulizer, and I feel at least as good with less medicaiton. 12. Beclovent and Ventolin did very little for me 13. Also with approval of Dr, I quit taking Thoe-Dur, which I feel did nothing for me 14. Theo-Dur and Humibid 15. None 16. No 17. Pulm Rehab was Rx'd. I finished that & contdinued in Maint at personal expense. Went to Duke Univ as part of NETT - did one week (5 days @ 4 hrs per day). Returned to FL for 16 sessions 3 days per week @ 2 hrs per day 18. Yes - nebulizer once or twice daily 19. Since Apr 98, I have been on oxygen 7/24 @ 2L; during exercise I sometimes increase it to 4L. 20. Heat affects my breathing, even hot water in a shower. Cold doesn't bother me as long as I am comfortable. I am not incontinent, and I sleep like a baby. 21. I am full time retired ! Mine is not a disabcility retirement. 22 I have privatge insur, Medicare, and I am retired military. I feel I am in satisfactory shape with my current holdings. 23 I lam currenly waiting for Duke to randomize me for LVRS. I will hear from them on 7 Jan 00. 24. I am avail for indiv questions, which should be addressed to my E-Mail address 25. I am a former smoker. I quit 8-15-97, using ZYBAN, which I heartily recommend. 26. I am still on maint Rehab as frequently as I can arrange it. 27. I know nothing about anti-biotics 28. I don't know if I lhave ever bveen tested for Alpha 1. Back to Profiles |
