I don't recall any. 9. It runs in my mind that the family doc put me on proventile, serevant and later azmacort when it came out. But, I don't remember any tests. 10. No 11. Atrovent - 2 puffs 4 x a day, Serevent - 2 puffs 2 x aday, Flovent - 2 puffs 2 x aday 12. I can't say. 13. None at the present. 14. Doxycyclene 15. No 16. A couple of years before diagnosis, I had chronic bronchitis and was prescribed ceclor. Broke out in hives. I was put on fosamax and developed an ulcer. Put on miacalcin and reacted with body aches, was on singulair and had insomnia, itching, flu-like symptoms. 17. At the time I was diagnosed there was not a rehab for pulmonary patients. When I finally went to a pulmo a year after diagnosis, he gave me the tape "Chairobics" which I did faithfully 3 times a week for about 6 months. Then he added 30 minutes walking 2 days a week. After about a year of this the rehab clinic opened and I started going there two days a week. I have been going for 5 years now. I walk the treadmill 15 min. twice with weight lifting in between. I am unable to do the other machines because of arthritis. 18. Yes. I have albuterol for it and use it 4 times a day. 19. Yes. I started out with 2L just for exercise two years ago in January. I am now on 3L 24/7. 20. I have always been intolerant to heat and cold, I have incontinence, sleeplessness when on prednisone which lingers for some time after I have stopped the prednisone. My biggest problem is my skin from prednisone and Flovent. I am always bruised, have skin tears and very discolored. I have recently developed scalp problem-excessive flaking- which I think is connected somehow. 21. No 22. No 23. I am on Medicare and also have secondary coverage from my husband's company. It is sufficient. 24. I tried to have lung reduction and was turned down as my E is diffused. 25. Yes. 27. Former smoker- 7 years cessation. 28. Yes 29. Levaquin seems to help me the most. 30. 2 Wolfeboro, New Hampshire voedisch@juno.com 3 emphysema 4 64 5 62 6 sob-self hospitalized after inhaling fumes from crazy glue 7 no I researched my problem in the local library, found a pulmonologist in the yellow pages 8 %SAT with exercise (finger oximeter), & PFT 9 pulmonary techie-no 10 albuterol 11 albuteral-2 puffs/6hrs or 2puffs/4hrs as needed atrovent-2 puffs/6hrs flovent- 3puffs/2xday 12 don't know 13 mrvacor for cholesteral....no others 14 N/A 15 no0 16 no 17 yes....walking, etc. 18 no 19 yes 1L/min for sleep...2.5L/min for exercise or work 20 can't breathe very cold or hot air...go to Florida Jan through April. Incontinent when panic sob, so try to pre-plan activities to prevent panic breathlessness. 21 retired 22 no 23 medicare...irate that medicare has raped my coverage...now have rationing, MD's who don't care and are incompetant. 24 no 25 yes 26 have 2 older siblings never exposed to smoke who have "severe Asthma" 27 former 28 yes, on o2 I do 50 pushps, 20 trunktwists, 15 sit-ups and do 10 flights of stairs or 20 minutes walk each day 29 water Back to Profiles |
