VALERIE J. BURNS, 67, of Lawnacre Drive, Cranston, formerly of East Greewich, a retired customer-service representative, and former typesetter, died Wednesday at Roger Williams Medical Center. Providence.
She was the wife of William R. Burns. They had been married for 47 years. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late James and Flora (Linnea) Kinloch, she had lived in East Greenwich for many years before moving to Cranston seven years ago.
Mrs. Burns had been a service representative at Colibri Corp., in Providence, for 10 years before retiring in 1996 because of illness, and had previously worked at the Warwick Beacon.
She was a member of the National Honor Society.
Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Belinda Millette of East Greenwich and Melanie Miller of South Kingstown; two sons, Paul and Gary Burns, both of Cranston; and six grandchildren. She was the sister of the late James Kinloch.
The funeral services and burial will be private.
