Pastor Stewart Nash was born in Chicago,
Illinois, on
February 8, 1939 to the late Thelma Plummer, and Lamard Nash. he later
lived in Springboro, and Cincinnati, where he attended college for two
years. Retiring from the Navy, June 1979 from Norfolk, Virginia.
Stewart professed his faith in Christ at an early age. Stewart became a Deacon 1989 at New Greater Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Joe D. Brown, Sr.
In 1991 Stewart was called to the Ministry. he loved working for the Lord. Stewart taught Adult Bible Class, he played the organ at his church, he was also known as "The History Master", he received his nickname because of knowledge he had of answering various questions pertaining to the Bible and its history.
Rev. Nash loved the Lord. Rev. Nash became a full time pastor of Love of Christ Christian Church. Due to failing health, pastor Nash joined under Pastorageship of Pastor Charles Clardy of Family Bible Baptist Church where he was faithful until his death.
A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and relative, Stewart was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 17, 2001 at 2:37 am. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Veronica L. Nash; five daughters, and two son-in-laws, Tracey Nash, of Norfolk, Virginia, Robin (Anthony) Hunter, Desiree (Blaine) Scott, NaTasha Nash, of Port Arthur, Texas, Kristy Alexander, three sons, Sean Nash, Gerald Alexander, and Carlos Douglas; twenty-one grandchildren; one sister, Gwendolyn Carter of Los Angeles, California; mother-in-law, Edna M. Frazier; four sister-in-laws, Dannel (Jimmy) Murphy, Carolyn (David) Freeman, Saundra Webb, Gwendolyn (Larry) Lee; three brother-in laws, William (Cheryl) Hayes, Charles and Delbert Douglas.
He was a maintenance engineer for IPS School, retiring in 1996.
After retiring, Stewart devoted full time in pastoring, teaching, and preaching the Gospel at church, grocery store, and expecially while in the hospital.
To his family he wanted them to understand the importance of the Goodness of the Lord, and the blessing that God would and could bestow upon them.
Stewart was a Christian that let his actions speak for themselves because he was always there if you needed him day or night.
